Volumes of electronic waste are rapidly increasing around the world. E-Waste is now totals 57.4 metric tonnes worldwide.
It is forecast that by 2030, electronic volumes of electronic waste will reach 74 million metric tonnes worldwide.
For Thailand in 2022, electronic waste from electrical appliances and electronic devices totalled 435,187 tonnes, with a trend to keep increasing every year.

If this E-Waste is not disposed of correctly within 5-10 years, Thailand will face a crisis of electronic waste from both domestic volumes and imports from overseas, causing chemical residues with impacts on the environment and society, with long term negative effects on ecosystems and health.
AIS has therefore established programs to promote awareness of the impacts of incorrect disposal of electronic waste, while working with partners from every sector to collect electronic waste for correct and sustainable disposal.
