AIS–GULF–HRDI Deliver Measurable Social Impact, Achieving an SROI of 2.37x to Advance Sustainable Digital Inclusion
AIS, together with its key partners GULF and the Highland Research and Development Institute (Public Organization) (HRDI), has announced the results of a Social Return on Investment (SROI) assessment for the Green Energy Green Network for THAIs initiative. Conducted over one year in the pilot communities of Ban Moko Poke and Ban Dok Mai Sod in Tak Province, the study found that the project generated THB 2.37 in social value for every THB 1 invested, demonstrating the tangible impact of integrating clean energy with digital infrastructure to improve the quality of life in remote communities.
The research findings were showcased at the Thailand Research Expo 2025, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation on 16 June 2025 at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld. The assessment highlighted measurable positive impacts across multiple dimensions:
- Economic Impact: Increased value creation and expanded market opportunities for local agricultural products.
- Education: Improved access to online learning resources and lifelong learning opportunities.
- Healthcare: Enhanced access to healthcare services through digital technologies.
- Quality of Life: Better connectivity, improved communication, and reduced travel constraints for community members.
The initiative serves as a model for leveraging technology to drive sustainable social development, reflecting AIS's vision of connecting opportunities, reducing inequality, and creating shared growth for all.
As part of the event, AIS also hosted an exclusive media group interview under the theme "Research Insights: Transforming Data into Impact through Collaboration for Sustainable Social Inclusion." The session was honored by the participation of Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi , Thailand's Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, who shared perspectives on the critical role of research in driving national development and delivering tangible solutions to reduce social inequality.
In addition, the AIS exhibition booth received the Research and Innovation for Sustainable Social Development Award from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. This recognition reinforces AIS's leadership as a digital infrastructure provider committed to creating meaningful social impact and demonstrates the power of cross-sector collaboration in delivering sustainable development outcomes for Thailand.
