AIS Installs First 4G and 5G Field Hospital Network in Aid of COVID-19 Patients

AIS has installed its first 4G and 5G field hospital network in aid of COVID-19 patients, facilitating communication and work being carried out by medical personnel of Thammasat University Hospital.

On 25 March, 2020, Mr. Wasit Wattanasup, Head of Operations and Technical Support for AIS, stated “in support of Thammasat University Hospital converting, adapting and expanding its 14 story DLUXX Thammasat building to serve as a field hospital treating patients of COVID-19 from today onward, AIS engineers have surveyed and installed an additional network that enhances 4G capacity by three fold and introduces 5G capability in preparation to accommodate telemedicine services in the future with the network to aid medical staff in their operations and communication”. He added “the AIS engineering team will continue to monitor usage of the network to ensure its efficient operation throughout the mission to help COVID-19 patients”.
