1 September, 2020 : AIS has for the 6th year in a row been selected to feature on sustainability indexes FTSE4Good Index Series by FTSE Russell, an international indices organization widely recognized among investors, and ESG 100, reflecting the company’s dedication to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and creating a foundation for national development and creating value for all aspects of Thai society.
Mr. Somchai Lertsutiwong, Chief Executive Officer of AIS, remarked “being selected for the FTSE4Good Index Series and placing on the ESG 100 as a listed company with exemplary environmental, social and governance performance for the 6th year in a row is a point of pride for us as a major provider of digital and telecommunications services. We are dedicated to operating towards balanced business, social and environmental value under good governance principles and towards serving as a foundation for Thailand’s sustainable development.
AIS has championed electronic waste (E-Waste) management and proper termination to avoid environmental impact through its “Thailand Without E-Waste” program, carried out in collaboration with a network comprising public, private and civic members. The campaign setup over 2,000 E-Waste disposal points. At the same time, the “Aunjai CYBER” initiative has helped to immunize the Thai people from online threats by fostering 8 DQ (Digital Quotient) skills and providing filtering tools for inappropriate content in the digital world created using the capacities of its network and global partners.
This success is the result of cooperation between all our members, from our executives to staff and stakeholders, who applied sustainability principles to their entire operation chain, resulting in a sustained effort towards sustainability and stability”.
