AIS Sets Up AIS 5G, AIS Fibre Networks Connects "Sakhon Care Center" in Samut Sakhon in Support of Efforts Against COVID-19

31 December, 2020 : Ms. Saichon Submakudom, Head of Public Relations for Advanced Info Service Plc. (AIS), stated that "in light of a new outbreak of COVID-19 that has affected Samut Sakhon province in particular, making it a high-risk and high control area and leading to the establishment of the 'Sakhon Care Center' to serve as a command center for addressing outbreaks at Samut Sakhon Sports Stadium, Wat Krok Krak and Samut Sakhon Public Health Office, a team of AIS engineers has urgently setup and expanded data networks across the three locations in support of effective communication between medical personnel as well as communication between patients and their families". Work done by the engineering team includes:

  • Enhancing the coverage and use of AIS 5G
  • Installation of AIS Fibre and WiFi

AIS previously sponsored pre-paid SIM cards and COVID-19 insurance for Migrant Health Volunteers (MHV) in support of coordination between migrant laborers and hospitals, the provincial public health office and Thai Red Cross Society, which are seeking to monitor, screen and assess the laborers 24 hours a day. The company also provided drinking water to Samut Sakhon.

Ms. Saichon remarked "as a member of the private sector, we would like to thank and express our care to all health volunteers and related medical staff who have sacrificed to tackle this new outbreak. AIS will use its communication systems to support Thailand in overcoming COVID-19".
