AIS Bolsters Mobile and Fibre Networks at Thammasat Field Hospital Supporting Care for COVID-19 Patients
9 January, 2021 : Mr. Wasit Wattanasap, Head of Nationwide Operations and Support for Advanced Info Services Plc. (AIS), stated that "in light of the new wave of COVID-19 infection, the AIS engineering department has made sure to expend its full effort in maintaining the AIS 5G, 4G, AIS Super WIFI and AIS Fibre networks nationwide, to ensure uninterrupted service for customers and to meet demand for E-Commerce, Work from Home and Learn from Home, even enhancing networks at key field hospitals being setup in various provinces".
"After strengthening the network at the Sakhon Care Center in Samut Sakhon so that it could begin serving patients, AIS has done the same for Thammasat University and Thammasat University Hospital’s Thammasat Field Hospital, which was opened to provide 308 beds for mild-case COVID-19 infections in assistance of state medical facilities, enhancing the network established when the facility was erected during the first wave of COVID-19. On top of bolstering AIS 5G and 4G capability on the grounds, AIS also provided WiFi and an AIS Play Box in all 308 rooms to support contactless monitoring and communication between medical workers and patients".
Mr. Wasit affirmed "AIS remains ready 24 hours a day to maintain its network, so that all involved in the fight against COVID-19 can depend on it while overcoming this new wave".
